| January Council of Chiefs
The next Council of Chiefs (COC) meeting will be held on January 28, 2012 at the Atlanta Area Council Service Center located in Atlanta, GA. All Lodge Key 3 members and SectionCorps members including Conclave Vice-Chairmen and Conclave Committee Chairmen should make plans to attend this important meeting. The meeting will begin at 11:00 AM EST. During the meeting, the section will provide lunch for all Arrowmen in attendance. The lunch is free for youth and $5 for adults.

The August Conclave Planning Seminar was a great success in making preparations for Conclave 2012. The approved theme for this year is "A Light for the Journey." The Conclave will be at Camp Benjamin Hawkins from April 20 - 22, 2012. The deadline to pre-order memorabilia is January 28, 2012 and the participant registration deadline is March 31, 2012. Section SR-9 releases a quarterly newsletter about events around the section and the nation. Our publication, Nine Feathers is open to any Arrowman in SR-9 who wants to closely follow what is happening on a section level. Apply for OA High Adventure
What will you be doing this summer before NOAC? One answer that you may consider is one of the four OA High Adventure programs around the country. These include OA Trail Crew at Philmont, OA Canadian Odyssey and OA Wilderness Voyage at Northern Tier, and OA Ocean Adventure at Florida Sea Base. There are many slots waiting to be filled and you should look into high adventure in summer 2012. More information on these high adventure opportunities can be found here.

Register for the Next NLS & NLATS
This year the Southern Region will host three NLS & NLATS weekends. If you are interested in attending one of these leadership training weekends, please contact your lodge's staff adviser to register. The registration deadline for the NLS weekend in Antioch, TN from March 2 - 4, 2012 is February 17, 2012 .
